DETAILED INFORMATION

This residency prepares pharmacists for a career in ambulatory care pharmacy practice with either a health care or an academic institution. Residents are provided opportunities to deliver primary care pharmaceutical services for patients with asthma, thromboembolic disease, dyslipidemia, diabetes, heart failure, HIV infection, and other commonly encountered disorders in the primary care setting. Practice sites include the OU Family Medicine Center and the Variety Care Community Health Center. Residents are expected to design original projects and/or participate in ongoing clinical research and to present and publish their work. Residents, appointed as Clinical Instructors, are required to participate in a longitudinal teaching skills development program and are involved in didactic and experiential teaching throughout the program.
