DETAILED INFORMATION

The PGY2 residency in ambulatory care at the University of New Mexico will prepare the resident to practice independently in a variety of ambulatory care clinics. The resident will train under pharmacist clinician preceptors who have prescriptive authority in the state of New Mexico. A variety of primary care clinics as well as unique specialty clinics (primary care in HIV population, Transgender Medicine, pain, nephrology, geriatrics, cardiology, pediatric pulmonary, anticoagulation) are available for rotation. The residency has as strong academic focus and requires didactic teaching and advanced patient care lab facilitation and a teaching certificate course is available as well. An academia rotation is available and encouraged as an elective.
