Admissions Overview:

The School of Pharmacy, one of eight schools that comprise Loma Linda University, is owned and operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Because of this, preference for admission is given to members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. No candidate is accepted on the basis of religious affiliation alone. It is a firm policy of the admissions committee to admit individuals who desire a faith-based education and demonstrate a commitment to Christian principles.

The students admitted to the School of Pharmacy come from diverse backgrounds, and therefore represent many religious and ethnic groups. They are all talented individuals who are self-motivated and have demonstrated academic excellence as well as hold a passion for reaching out into the community and helping others towards wellness.

The Admissions Committee evaluates applicants based on a variety of criteria such as academic achievement, communication skills, pharmacy experience, and involvement in extracurricular activities. We especially value activities that demonstrate leadership and community service. Showing strong aptitude in the biological and physical sciences is important; however, we also encourage a well-balanced academic background that includes the humanities and social sciences.

The mission of the School of Pharmacy is to educate and train pharmacists within a Christian environment so that they can become caring competent health care professionals. A Loma Linda University pharmacist is someone for whom the pursuit of excellence—both professional and personal—is a way of life. If this describes you, we encourage you to apply to Loma Linda University School of Pharmacy today.
