DETAILED INFORMATION

The D’Youville School of Pharmacy is designed to prepare students to practice in an inter-professional patient-centered environment where pharmacists are responsible for assisting patients in managing their medication regimens. Graduates of the program will be taught to communicate effectively with patients and other health care practitioners, to solve problems related to drug therapy regimens, and to develop and evaluate programs to improve the health of the communities they serve.
As a private institution, our school provides a personalized experience for each future pharmacist. All students in our program are treated as individuals; they are never made to feel as though they are just a number.
D’Youville offers a mix of didactic (traditional classroom) and small group learning opportunities where students and faculty work together to ensure topics are explored from multiple perspectives. Our unique school calendar grants a 2-week break mid-semester which allows students to fully immerse themselves within their pharmacy rotation. Since classes are not held during rotations, students are afforded the opportunity to participate in both U.S. and International IPPE and APPE rotations starting in the First Professional year of study.
The D’Youville mission’s emphasis is on leadership and service to the community is reflected in the pharmacy program. Students will practice leadership skills while working collaboratively with their colleagues and the faculty on problem sets, case analyses, and class and service projects. Through class exercises and practice experiences our fully accredited pharmacy program will teach students to care for patients and communities.
D’Youville School of Pharmacy prides itself on developing our students to become competent and compassionate pharmacists.
D’Youville College is an urban campus close to downtown Buffalo, the vibrant canal-side, and the Peace Bridge which links the United States and Canada. Our state-of-the-art Pharmacy Building boasts stunning views of the Buffalo skyline and Niagara Falls.
