This PGY2 program in Ambulatory Care is offered by Mission Hospital and the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of pharmacy. This program provides an opportunity for pharmacists to expand on previous residency experience in pharmacy practice, ambulatory care or community pharmacy to develop pharmacy services in coordination with the health system’s Accountable Care Organization (ACO), Mission Health Partners. The program focus is on population management and transitions of care for patients in Western North Carolina. Residents have teaching opportunities and support the rural health curriculum at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy, Asheville Campus.
