DETAILED INFORMATION

Welcome to the University of New England’s College of Pharmacy! We offer a four-year Doctor of Pharmacy program located in Portland, Maine. The University’s state-of-the-art College of Pharmacy academic and research facility was completed in 2009. The building is the first facility devoted entirely to pharmacy academic studies and research in the state of Maine.
The Mission of the College of Pharmacy is to provide an exemplary, learner-centered pharmacy education and advance the practice of pharmacy through interprofessional collaboration, research, patient care and service.
Today, pharmacists go far beyond the counter, applying their expertise and serving patients in new ways. As an innovator in education for the health professions, UNE empowers you to be medication experts, wellness consultants, and primary caregivers — ready to lead in the new world of pharmacy.
Distinctive Offerings at UNE’s College of Pharmacy include:
Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC): As a UNE PharmD student, you receive interprofessional training alongside future physicians, dentists, physical therapists, and other training health professionals, so you are able to lead in today’s collaborative health care field. Our goal is to educate practitioners, scholars, and researchers to work together and with patients and clients for relationship-centered health care that is comprehensive, collaborative, caring, safe, and continuous throughout the life cycle.
Cutting-Edge Simulation: UNE’s Sim Lab is an authentic hospital environment with state-of-the-art robotic patient simulators. Here, you gain real-life clinical experience without the real-life risk.
Career Mentorship: Career mentorship is part of UNE’s Pharm.D. program, and it shows in our career placement record: 100% of the class of 2016 was employed within 6 months of graduation! (January ’17 survey)
