DETAILED INFORMATION

This specialized residency centers on developing the competencies necessary to provide pharmaceutical care to patients with infectious diseases. Most of the resident’s clinical experiences will be on the Infectious Diseases Consult Team at the University Hospitals. Additional time will be spent working in the ID/HIV clinic. The resident will complete required and elective experiences, including internal medicine, clinical microbiology, critical care, and bone marrow transplantation. Through participation in the antibiotic formulary and stewardship committee the resident will gain experience in formulary development, stewardship, and evidence-based decision making. Travel support to the ASHP Midyear Clinical Meeting and the ID Week conference provided. Mentoring for BCPS will also be available.
