DETAILED INFORMATION

The program is designed to develop the specialized knowledge, competency and skill necessary to provide pharmacist care to patients with cancer. The resident will be actively involved in managing the therapeutic decisions and clinical outcomes of cancer patients in an interdisciplinary environment. The resident will participate in all aspects of oncology pharmacy practice pertaining to clinical practice and outcomes, research, and education. Required practice experiences include medical oncology, malignant hematology/stem cell transplant, pediatric oncology, ambulatory oncology clinic, and palliative care. The resident will gain experience in clinical pharmacology research, as well as development of their teaching skills.
