DETAILED INFORMATION

This specialty residency (PGY-2) program is designed to prepare the individual for a career in HIV/ID pharmacotherapy. The primary practice site is the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) located at the OU Health Sciences Center. The IDI provides care to approximately 1800 patients living with HIV. Services include patient education, adherence counseling and hepatitis C co-infection management. The one-year residency provides an emphasis on HIV pharmacotherapy, but will also provide training in traditional ID and ambulatory care. Activities include ID consult service, antibiotic streamlining, HIV clinic, and internal medicine clinic. Experience will also be gained with clinical research and teaching. Candidates must be eligible for license in Oklahoma and have completed a PGY1 residency or have 3 years of equivalent experience.
