DETAILED INFORMATION

The goal of the University of Oklahoma College of Pharmacy PGY2 internal medicine residency is to provide the resident with the practice skills and knowledge to become a role model pharmacotherapy specialist and educator. The resident spends a significant portion of time in inpatient internal medicine practice, primarily at the OU Medical Center. Elective experiences in additional acute care subspecialty areas are available and can be tailored to the resident’s interests. The resident receives an appointment as Clinical Instructor at the OU College of Pharmacy. Other requirements include didactic/practicum teaching in conjunction with a foundational/advanced teaching certificate and a required research project. Residents are encouraged to present their research at national, state, and local meetings and to publish their findings.
