DETAILED INFORMATION

This PGY2 residency provides training in patient-oriented pharmacy care services, teaching experiences, and research in Internal Medicine at a university hospital. Flexible elective experiences allow the resident to focus on major areas of interests. The resident will develop expert levels of competence in delivering patient-centered care in the specialty population; hone teaching skills for use with students, residents, and patients; and participate in research and scholarship. Completion of a major project is required; an optional teaching certificate program is available. Fringe benefits include two weeks’ paid vacation, paid holidays, health insurance and academic appointment. Licensure in Virginia is required.
