DETAILED INFORMATION

This 12-month program provides a broad range of experience in infectious diseases. The major training site is the University of Colorado Hospital. Required rotations include general and transplant ID consult services, HIV/AIDS and HCV clinics, bone marrow transplant, orthopedic ID/outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy (OPAT), and longitudinal experiences in antimicrobial stewardship and the outpatient ID clinic. Other potential rotations include pediatric ID, critical care, and others. Off-site rotations at other Denver-area hospitals are also available. The program is individualized to meet the needs of the resident. While the program focuses on enhancing practice skills, research projects are required. Participation in clinical and didactic teaching of Pharm.D. students and PGY1 residents is also strongly encouraged.
