DETAILED INFORMATION

This 12-month program provides a broad range of practice experience in critical care. The major training sites are the Intensive Care Units at the University of Colorado Hospital. Required or elective rotations include several ICUs (medical, surgical/trauma, cardiothoracic, burn, neurosurgical, cardiac), solid organ transplantion, nutrition support, infectious diseases, cardiology, emergency medicine, and others. Off-site rotations in pediatric and adult ICUs and emergency medicine are also available. The program is individualized to meet the needs of the resident. While the program focuses on enhancing clinical practice skills, a research project is required. Additional research opportunities are available. Participation in clinical and didactic teaching of Pharm.D. students and PGY1 residents is also strongly encouraged.
