University Health System (UHS) in San Antonio is a 716-bed acute-care, level 1 trauma center and the primary teaching facility for the UT Health Science Center at San Antonio. In collaboration with UT & UIW pharmacy schools, the PGY2 Infectious Diseases Pharmacy Residency Program provides a challenging, well-rounded training environment including a variety of infectious diseases states seen in a variety of clinical areas, including but not limited to general medicine and surgery, numerous ICUs, BMT, HIV, emergency medicine, and cardiology/cardiothoracic surgery. Residents will have opportunities to care for adult and pediatric patients and teach and precept pharmacy students. In addition, residents will demonstrate leadership and practice management skills and complete an infectious diseases research project.
