UC Irvine Health offers this residency for the resident to develop in-depth knowledge and skills in infectious diseases (ID) and antimicrobial stewardship. The resident will learn and perform evidence-based antimicrobial stewardship strategies. The primary learning experiences include adult ID consult and antimicrobial stewardship duties. Electives include kidney transplant, oncology, and critical care. The resident will have opportunities to educate staff and students, participate in P&T and conduct research in ID. The pharmacist completing this all-encompassing residency will be prepared to function as an infectious disease/antimicrobial stewardship pharmacist.
