The goal of this residency is to provide the necessary activities for the resident to develop the knowledge and skills to become a competent pediatric specialty pharmacist. Required rotations are general pediatrics (2 months), PICU (2 months), NICU, hematology/oncology, and infectious diseases/stewardship. Longitudinal experiences include any of our pediatric specialty clinics and our Academic Preparation Program. Our program allows our residents to tailor/focus their second half of the year in peds ID/ASP or critical care. Some requirements include completing a research project, precepting pharmacy students, serving as chief editor for a quarterly newsletter, and providing presentations for continuing education. The resident is trained in PALS/NRP and attends pediatric codes. One weekend per month staffing.
