DETAILED INFORMATION

The University of Virginia PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency program prepares residents to serve as an integral part of interprofessional teams caring for pediatric patients, incorporating evidence-based care in decisions made by the team and providing leadership in medication-related issues. Residents will train in pediatric and neonatal intensive care, hematology/oncology, solid organ transplant, and ambulatory care. Elective rotations are available in a wide range of specialties. Residents completing the program will be prepared to manage pediatric pharmacy operations and optimize technology in medication ordering and preparation. In addition, they will possess the skills to deliver effective educational programs to health care professionals, lead quality improvement initiatives, and conduct practice-based research.
