DETAILED INFORMATION

The residency program is designed to develop expertise in pediatric therapeutics and clinical practice skills through provision of clinical pharmacy services to the seriously ill child in both inpatient and outpatient settings. The core rotations for the residency cover a multitude of pediatric subspecialties including: pulmonology, cardiology, gastroenterology, nephrology, endocrine, neurology, hematology/oncology, pediatric intensive care, neonatal intensive care, and psychiatry. The resident has the opportunity to rotate through many other clinical areas based on their interests, including subspecialty ambulatory clinics and the pediatric emergency department, and teaches in the pediatric pharmacy elective course at the UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy.
