DETAILED INFORMATION

Patient-focused residency offering clinical rotations in inpatient and outpatient settings: adult psychotic disorders, geriatric psychiatry, psychiatric consult service, crisis/substance abuse, child and adolescent psychiatry, eating disorders, neurology, and peripartum psychiatry. Goal is to promote the development of expert skills and competencies in the multidisciplinary practice of psychiatric pharmacy. Additional opportunities include clinical and didactic instruction and participation at professional conferences. Affiliated with the University of North Carolina Eshelman School of Pharmacy. Opportunities for elective rotations at outside institutions in the area. The department is committed to a practice model that directly involves pharmacists in patient care.
