DETAILED INFORMATION

University Transplant Center, a University Health System (UHS) & UT Health Science Center partnership, provides comprehensive, multi-disciplinary care for kidney, liver, lung, and pancreas transplant recipients. In collaboration with UT & UIW pharmacy schools, UHS offers advanced clinical training in inpatient & outpatient transplant pharmacotherapy. Longitudinal experiences include transplant academics, clinical practice, major research project, management, & professional development. Required rotations include orientation; transplant medicine/surgery; minimum 5 months of adult kidney, liver, & lung transplant; pediatric transplant; and HLA & microbiology labs. Elective rotations include bone marrow transplant, advanced medical or surgical critical care, heart transplant, HIV-opportunistic infections, and transplant ambulatory care.
