DETAILED INFORMATION

The Departments of Pharmacy Practice and Hospital Pharmacy Services at the University of Illinois at Chicago offer a year-long ASHP-accredited specialized residency (PGY-2) in solid organ transplant. This PGY2 pharmacy residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists in this specialized area of practice. This PGY2 residency provides residents with opportunities to function independently as practitioners by conceptualizing and integrating accumulated experience and knowledge and incorporating both into the provision of patient care and other advanced practice settings. Residents who successfully complete this accredited PGY2 pharmacy residency are prepared for advanced patient care, academic, or other specialized positions.
