DETAILED INFORMATION

The University of Chicago Medicine’s Transplant Institute performs kidney, liver, pancreas, islet cell, heart, and lung transplants as well as complex surgical procedures involving multi-organ transplants. The University of Chicago Medicine has a longstanding history of “firsts” in transplantation, and we continually seek new and creative ways to advance the science of transplantation.

The PGY2 Transplant Resident will learn to care for living donors and transplant recipients in all settings including inpatient, outpatient, and home/offsite. In addition to patient care, the resident will learn about organ procurement, HLA lab methodology, transplant program infrastructure, regulatory bodies and requirements, and develop skills in clinical research. University of Chicago residents have occasional onsite call and staffing duties.
