DETAILED INFORMATION

The PGY2 Solid Organ Transplant (SOT) residency program is designed to provide the resident advanced training in the fields of organ transplantation and immunology. The resident will be a vital member of a multidisciplinary team consisting of physicians, pharmacists, nurses, transplant coordinators, and other health care professionals. The program aims to graduate a resident that is capable and qualified to immediately accept a role as a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist providing direct patient care to SOT recipients.

Houston Methodist Hospital Transplant Center provides care for kidney, pancreas, liver, heart, and lung transplant recipients, as well as MCS patients. Training alongside over 40 clinical pharmacists (5 SOT-focused) and 20 other pharmacy residents, the SOT resident will have ample teaching and learning opportunities.
