DETAILED INFORMATION

The residency program provides an excellent training experience allowing the resident to become a well-rounded, confident clinical pharmacist with research skills who can manage all types of transplant patients in the acute and ambulatory multidisciplinary care settings. Approximately 65 heart, 85 lung, 130 liver and 200 kidney single or multi-organ transplants occur yearly, along with an active living donor liver and kidney program. Research skills will be taught through involvement in investigator-initiated, NIH, industry sponsored clinical research and the completion of a research project with intent to publish. There will also be the option to participate in elective rotations such as transplant infectious disease, along with precepting students and residents, attendance at transplant meeting, and multiple presentation opportunities.
