DETAILED INFORMATION

The PGY2 pharmacy residency in infectious diseases is designed to transition PGY1 residency graduates from generalist practice to specialized practice focused on the care of patients with infectious diseases. This program will train the resident to be an expert in infectious disease pharmacotherapy and prepare them to lead an antimicrobial stewardship program. This will be accomplished by working closely with infectious diseases physicians, ID pharmacists and microbiologists. Required rotations include the ID consult service, antimicrobial stewardship, microbiology, ambulatory ID, and practice research. Teaching opportunities include precepting pharmacy students, PGY1 pharmacy residents and lecturing to medical residents.
