DETAILED INFORMATION

The UH Cleveland Medical Center postgraduate year two (PGY2) specialty residency in critical care is a one-year postgraduate training program designed to transition PGY1 residency graduates from generalist practice to specialized practice that meets the needs of critically ill patients. Training focuses on caring for the range of diseases and disorders that occur in the critically ill with emphasis on the complexities of multiple organ system failure and the difficulties imposed on care when patients require life-sustaining therapy. Residents will be accountable for providing education to other health care professionals and patients through different educational opportunities. Throughout the residency experience, each resident will develop individual and professional skills that result in a highly marketable clinical practitioner.
