DETAILED INFORMATION

The residency focuses on the development of competencies needed to provide comprehensive medication management in pain and palliative care patients. Residents should already possess basic knowledge and competencies in institutional and clinical pharmacy practice gained through completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency. This program provides advanced training in clinical pharmacy practice focusing on patient care, clinical research and education in pain and palliative care. A multidisciplinary approach to inpatient and outpatient pain management and palliative care is utilized. A longitudinal clinic is provided in Palliative Care clinic. Key areas of focus include consult services in oncology, neurosciences and opioid stewardship initiatives. Additional experiences in anesthesia pain and psychiatry pain/addiction services exists.
