DETAILED INFORMATION

During the first year of the program (ie, MUSC PGY1 Pharmacy Residency with a focus in Drug Information), core rotations, goals, and objectives will be completed via the ASHP PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency. However, the resident will have the opportunity to complete elective rotations and projects in informatics, medication use policy, and pharmacy outcomes research. Residents graduating from the PGY1 year will continue to the PGY2 Drug Information Residency via early match (November/ December) of the PGY1 year. The PGY2 resident will gain experience in drug information practice, formulary management, ADR/medication error surveillance, and teaching. While the emphasis is on drug information research and practice, the resident has the opportunity to explore research in numerous other areas (eg, informatics), depending on interest.
