DETAILED INFORMATION

This well-established, ASHP-accredited PGY2 residency precepted by highly respected drug information practitioners provides a comprehensive experience in contemporary drug policy development and implementation in a highly advanced, dynamic department. The resident will edit newsletters, prepare committee agendas, conduct drug use evaluations, participate in the investigational drug service, precept pharmacy students, conduct and publish research, and contribute to adverse drug reaction and medication error databases. Integration of medication policy into the hospital’s advanced electronic health record is also a focus of this program. Considerable experience in designing safe medication practices and monitoring medication systems is gained by collaborating with the health system’s Medication Safety Coordinator.
