DETAILED INFORMATION

The PGY1 Pharmacy Residency is conducted by Valley Health and the School of Pharmacy at Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. The mission of the program is to enable residents to become independent practitioners and be confident in practicing in a variety of health care settings. Residents gain an appreciation for providing community service as an integral part of the program. Rotations available include: internal medicine, critical care, cardiology/critical care, ambulatory care, formulary management, antimicrobial stewardship, NICU/Pediatrics, anticoagulation, practice management, medication safety, staffing, and transitions of care. With our affiliation with Shenandoah University, the residents are also able to participate in a teaching certificate program to gain experience in lecturing and precepting pharmacy students.
