DETAILED INFORMATION

The ASHP-accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at the University of New Mexico Hospital is designed to provide the resident with training and experience in various areas of clinical practice, research, and teaching. The program maintains a close association with the University of New Mexico College of Pharmacy and thus is able to provide a unique one-year residency that can be tailored to meet the interests of each resident.
The goals, objectives, and evaluation processes are consistent with those established by ASHP for PGY1 pharmacy residency training. Upon successful completion of the program, the resident should be prepared to provide advanced levels of pharmaceutical care in a variety of healthcare settings and/or enter into advanced training programs such as a Post-Graduate Year 2 residency or fellowship.
