This program is designed to train highly motivated, qualified pharmacists to compile, synthesize & analyze information & to communicate with healthcare professionals & hospitalized patients to optimize drug therapy outcomes. This residency builds on PharmD education to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, & eligible for PGY2 training. The program emphasizes clinical practice; in addition, residents assist in PharmD student training & oversight, develop professional leadership skills & develop lifelong learning skills. A residency project is a program requirement as is participation in a Teaching Certificate Program.
