DETAILED INFORMATION

This PGY1 pharmacy residency provides a full range of inpatient clinical pharmacy experiences including critical care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, infectious diseases, and anticoagulation. Additionally, residents will have learning opportunities in diabetes, medication safety, palliative care, cardiothoracic surgery, and nutrition. Residents present formal lectures, inservices, and a major project and serve as preceptors to pharmacy students. This program will develop directed practitioners who are prepared to assume an advanced practice in a hospital environment.

Suburban Hospital is affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine and the University of Maryland for precepting and the teaching certificate. Services offered include: open heart, orthopedic, and joint replacement, cancer program, stroke center, and Level 2 trauma center.
