St. Vincent’s Hospital is a 409 bed faith-based non-profit community hospital. Founded in 1898, it is the oldest hospital in Birmingham. St. Vincent’s Birmingham is the largest of five hospitals in the the St. Vincent’s Health System regional integrated health network. St. Vincent’s is home to a world-renowned orthopedic and sports medicine center, the state-of-the-art Bruno Cancer Center, and one of the state’s largest Women’s and Children’s Centers. The focus of the residency program is to prepare strong clinical generalists for hospital practice, continued training in a PGY2 program, or pursuit of academic appointment. Residents participate in a Teaching and Learning Certificate program, core acute care rotations, a variety of ambulatory electives, and longitudinal experiences in Leadership and Management and Drug Information
