DETAILED INFORMATION

This PGY1 residency is a 12-month program designed to develop the resident’s skills and competency in providing patient-centered care as part of multi-disciplinary primary care, specialty care, and inpatient teams. The program includes rotations in clinical pharmacist-run anticoagulation, primary care, endocrinology, rheumatology, pain, infectious diseases and anemia clinics in the ambulatory care setting. Inpatient rotations include adult medicine and critical care. Elective rotations or additional time in a core rotation are available. All rotations have a clinical pharmacist preceptor with an active practice in the specified area. Residents participate in PharmD student instruction, medication use evaluation, journal club, and clinical research. The program also offers an optional teaching certificate through MUSC School of Pharmacy.
