The objective of this residency is to prepare role-model practitioner/ educators for entry into academic clinical practice.
A major focus will be to prepare the resident to function as a clinical faculty member by emphasizing patient care, service, teaching, scholarship, and research. Upon completion, the resident will be capable of; establishing a site in medicine/infectious diseases, a teaching service for pharmacy students and residents, prepare and present lectures and seminars and conduct scholarly research. Through participation in clinical practice, teaching, didactics, experiential training and clinical research, the resident will develop the skills necessary to assume a clinical faculty position within a school of pharmacy.
