The goal of this program is to train an individual with the knowledge, skills and confidence required for a challenging and rewarding career as a internal medicine pharmacy practitioner with an academic affiliation with a school of pharmacy. The primary site is a 510-bed, university affiliated tertiary care hospital. Experiences include academia, anticoagulation, cardiology, critical care, emergency medicine, internal medicine, infectious disease, leadership, and practice management and precepting. The resident is an integral part of the medical team and local Schools of Pharmacy during all experiences and provides frequent formal and informal presentations to students, residents and physicians. A clinical practice research project and medication use/process evaluation are also required. Paid vacation and health benefits included.
