The PGY-1 residency program at BMH-M (TN) provides an opportunity to accelerate professional growth of a pharmacist beyond entry-level competence in inpatient pharmacy practice. Major components of this residency include: direct patient care, hospital committee involvement, teaching & precepting, completion of a research project, & staffing. The 12-month program is composed of 8 learning experiences. Internal medicine, practice management, infectious diseases, cardiology, & critical care are required with electives available in oncology, ED, neurology, transplant, & pediatric ICU. A resident of BMH-M will attain clinical & professional experiences with the ability to thrive in a variety of practice settings.
