DETAILED INFORMATION

Our program’s purpose is to develop the resident’s expert knowledge and skills in the area of cardiovascular pharmacotherapy through clinical service, education, and scholarly activities. Residents who successfully complete this program will be highly qualified, competent cardiovascular clinical pharmacists who are well qualified for both clinical specialist and clinical faculty positions. The program is sufficiently flexible that it may be tailored to a particular practice setting (e.g., inpatient, critical care, ambulatory care), if desired, such that the resident will be competitive for cardiovascular positions regardless of practice setting. Further, upon completion of this program, residents will be sufficiently competent and eligible to attain board certification in cardiology, which is strongly encouraged.
