DETAILED INFORMATION

The Community-based PGY1 Pharmacy Residency is designed to provide residents with the opportunity to expand the knowledge, skills and judgment required to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical care in the community setting. Opportunities include clinical drug therapy management in the community and ambulatory settings, diverse teaching opportunities, outcomes-based research, and development of management skills. Elective experiences include patient care in geriatrics, pediatrics, and solid organ transplant settings. Residents will not only gain the ability to function independently as a community-focused pharmacist practitioner, but will also develop the sensitivity and competence to serve patients of diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.
