DETAILED INFORMATION

The VCU Community-Based Pharmacy Residency Program is one of the oldest University-based multi-site community residency programs in the country with proven ability to train future innovative community-based pharmacist practitioners, educators, and leaders. The program emphasizes patient care, practice innovation, teaching and training, program development and management, practice-based research, and community and professional leadership. Residents train with community-based practitioners and mentors in independent and supermarket chain pharmacies already engaging in innovative practices and patient care services. Residents also complete a teaching certificate program and have the opportunity to participate in elective experiences. The program prepares residents for roles as community-based pharmacist practitioners.
