DETAILED INFORMATION

UMass Memorial Medical Center, the only Level-1 Trauma Center serving Central Massachusetts, offers a one year specialty training program in Emergency Medicine. Throughout the year the resident will rotate through services such as: adult emergency medicine, pediatric emergency medicine, medical ICU, surgical ICU, trauma, toxicology, and research. The resident will develop teaching skills through precepting pharmacy students, co-precepting PGY-1 residents, and providing didactic lectures to the medical residents. The goal of the program is to provide the resident with the clinical skills necessary to care for a variety of acutely ill patients efficiently and safely in a high volume, fast paced environment.
