Tufts Medical Center is a 415-bed academic level 1 trauma center with 5 adult ICUs, 1 pediatric and 1 neonatal ICU. This practice- based program focuses on care of the adult critically ill patient and requires that the PGY2 resident actively participate in hospital committees, direct patient care (rotation & service component), teaching activities and successful completion of a residency project.
The resident will rotate through core learning experiences in the following areas: Medical Intensive Care, Surgical Intensive care, Neurocritical Care, Cardiothoracic Intensive Care, Cardiac Intensive Care, Emergency Department. A nutrition component is also required and will be practiced throughout the residency. The resident will also be required to participate in our emergency response model (eg: stroke code response, adult code blue, etc.)
