DETAILED INFORMATION

The PGY2 Emergency Medicine Residency Program will include 7-8 months of clinical rotations in the emergency department, an off-site toxicology rotation at the NYC Poison Control Center, ICU rotation, pediatrics rotation, elective ICU or ID rotation, and ambulance ride-along. Residents will participate in the 24-hour in-house on-call program where they will play a key role in emergency response and maintenance of clinical services in addition to a critical care short-call weekend shift serving as a drug information resource to other health care providers, managing pharmacokinetic consults, and responding to medical emergencies. Graduates will be prepared for positions in emergency medicine as highly qualified pharmacotherapy specialists or as assistant professors at a college of pharmacy and to sit for the board certification exam.
