DETAILED INFORMATION

The emergency medicine specialty residency is designed to ensure the resident gains the experience and knowledge they need to work as a clinical pharmacy specialist in almost any emergency room setting. This program largely focuses on the care of critically ill and trauma patients, but with over 100,000 emergency room visits at IU Health Methodist Hospital alone there are additional experiences in the less acute patient population. In addition to training at IU Health Methodist, residents train at Riley Hospital for Children which is the only level one pediatric trauma center in the state of Indiana. Additional opportunities include experience in toxicology, disaster medicine, and EMS shadowing as well as many other ICU and non-ICU rotation opportunities.
